Miles on the toad

There maybe an obvious answer to this question but I ask anyway..... When you tow four down does the toad put the mileage on that you travel even though the engine is off?

I've towed 5 different vehicles built from 1990 to 2012 and the answer is NO for all of them. One of the sort of problems with maint of your toad is keeping tracking of toad miles added on to driven miles for things like rotating tires and lubrication of running gear.

2013 Edge is yes if the battery is connected.

On a side note everytime the AF1 applies the Edge brakes it fires up the computer which is why folks were either running charge lines or killing their toad battery so I chose to disconnect. Disconnecting it also simplifies (slightly) the toad tail light wiring.

Modern car with electronic ignition, towed correctly no, old car with a speedometer cable yes. But that would be going back to the 60's or 70's.

Not 60's or 70's I had a few, Tracker and Suzuki way newer then that that did add milage. The Suzuki and Silverado I tow now don't. The spedo cable is the reason, with one add miles, with out you don't.

We tow our 2013 Ford Edge correctly and it does indeed count miles unless the battery is disconnected.
