We towed a 2003 Mini Cooper S 6 speed for over 24,000 miles four down before DW decided we needed four door car as it was not getting any easier to get in and out of the Mini. Great car and fun when we got to our destination.

Not sure if all of the referenced mini's are early to mid 2000 models but my question would be " are newer models, such as 2012 to present year still towable with manual trans? Anyone out there towing a new one? Tow bars and base plates available?

You can go to this site and search by vehicle. You put in the year model, etc. and it tells you if the vehicle is towable, and will sell you baseplates, brake kits, and so more.
