I want to flat tow a Mustang convertable, or other manufacture's convertable. Is there any that don't need a transmission pump, or driveshaft disconnect?

Motorhome Magazine offers a list of towable vehicles. Remco breaks down each vehicle and provides necessary equipment and pricing.
We considered towing our GT Convertible but gave up after all the research and bought a Grand Vitara.

Sadly the Mustang will not tow 4 down. Remco does not have a cut off switch because the drive shaft is to short. I might have to trade mine in. I would love to be able to tow my convertable around but I've looked for every alternative and even a trailer would not work because the weight of the trailer and the car would be above my MH tow capacity of 5000 lbs.

if it's a manual trans, couldn't you tow it in neutral?

According to Remco Towing, the 2005-2010 manual transmission Mustang is not towable . The V6 models can be fitted for a drive shaft disconnect, but not theV8. For more info see
Home | Remco Towing
and use the application charts for your year.

If it is manual, what is the damage. If it it the bearing where the driveshaft goes into the transmission, and it takes 10,000 miles for it to happen, I would go ahead and do that. At 10,000 or so miles I would replace the bearing. If the damage is to other parts of the transmission, or occurred at 200 miles then I wouldn't do it.
