I bought a new Malibu Maxx and will be towing it. I bought a used {0ne time} BrakeBuddy and a Blue Ox Aventa II Tow Bar for a very good price from a friend. It all looks brand new. My problem is trying to figure out what base plate to use. At Blue Ox it says to use # BX1655 with an adaptor # BX88133. Anyone have a Maxx can help me with this problem. Also with the wiring I would like to go direct to a couple of new bulbs in the tail lights, but I'm not sure if there is room for a bulb there. I'll have to check tomorrow and see if there is enough room. Thanks for any help.

I don't understand. If Blue Ox has told you what plate and adapter to use, what is the question?

These #'s I got off the internet. I guess I'll have to call them and ask them if this is right. I really haven't ever looked into towing all 4 down so it's all new to me and I want to get it right.

I guess I have answered my own questions. But I just wanted to say that I bought my base plate from "RVupgrade.com". I have checked alot of prices and these people had the lowest price.

If you have and Aventa II and are going to use the BX1655 base plate you do not need and adapter. One of the guy in our club just had the sane set up done and they used a blue ox wiring kit #8869 was real easy to install.

This is what Blue Ox told me that I didn't need the adapter. I ordered the #8875 wiring kit so I can go direct from the RV to the bulbs, if there is enough room to install them in the tail light section. If not I'll have to get the dio. and use the bulbs that are there.
