Check your brake lights to see if they come on when you push the pedal, with the key off. If they do, you might need a brake light relay to prevent the Edge's brake lights from overriding the RV's turn signals. I have been installing the same Hopkins wiring on our new F150 this weekend. I haven't decided what I am going to do about it yet.

I checked that today and they do. I have never heard of this problem before.

I was caught off gaurd by it too. The brake light bulb and turn signal bulb are the same. So when when the brakes are applied by your braking system, it goes solid.

This would exclude my truck. They are the same lamps.

ReadyBrute system has a 2nd cable that locks the toad brakes down in the event of a breakaway.

That function is provided by the Ready Brute Elete with Ready Brake (What he linked to) that is the type of system I'm considering for my next purchase.

To the O/P.. Only question I have is the clevis for blue ox.. NOT sure you need that.. Also not sure you do not.

Photos on links not good enough to be sure.

If you read the questions by customers on amazon, you must buy the clevis for blue ox baseplate.

I got the base plate and wiring kit ordered today. I got a quote for 500 to install base plate and 95 for the wiring kit . I think I will save 600 and install myself.
