neutral tow

I have a 2005 Explorer Sporttrac . I installed the neutral tow in 2006 and it has worked great until now. It started going in and then the light would go out and it would not be in neutral . Now the light wont even come on. Has any one else had same problem. Thanks Wilkie

Only problem I've had with mine occurs when I use 4wd. After using, I have to drive around a bit before NT will work again. Ford tech tells me that shift solenoids in the tranny is sticking and takes then a while to shift back fully.

Maybe one of your solenoids is stuck. When it happens, the first check light, when you turn off the ignition, won't even light up.

Also programming for the NTK is in the computer and only a Ford dealer can reprogram

Thanks Ricko for input. It is at a Ford dealer as we speak and they say that the problem is the shift motor on the transfer case. This may well be the problem because we use it for a beach surf fishing buggy. Salt, who knows. Thanks Wilkie
