Newb question about flat towing my 97 Tacoma 2wd

I have done some web searches and have found different answers and advice regarding whether I can safely tow my 97 Tacoma 4x2 flat without any modification. I really trust the advice from other IRV2 members, so please help me out. Its a great truck but has been collecting dust for awhile. I would love to use it as a toad. Thanks in advance, fellow RVers!

I'm guessing it's rear wheel drive? If so, then my understanding is it can't be flat towed or dolly towed without some form of transmission pump mod being added.

I went to look at Motorhome Dinghy Guide to see if they have a guide in that year, but they only go to 2000.

You must pull the shaft or install a disconnect. Very popular on Toyota.
