Question Newbie with another question

Where are all my class C friends??

Towing question: With our newly purchased class C, we have a towing capacity of 5K. We have a Mazda CX9 and a Nissan Titan - the Mazda cannot be flat towed (Thanks Japan!) and the Titan weighs a tad to much! So, we were thinking of getting a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, problem is it only weighs 500 lbs less than the Titan.

Can ya'll over any advice? Whatever we get I would like to flat tow, and I have 2 kiddos (in car seats) and 100 lb dog!

Any advice is super appreciated - then I might quit pulling my hair out!

Are you considering a new TOAD or previously-owned? If you belong to FMCA, there are towing guides (by model year) that list vehicles that can be towed 4-down and their gross weight. I'm not sure this link will work or if you need to be logged in to FMCA's site... Towing Guides - towing four wheels down

Good luck.

OK, here's a bit of info from the FMCA towing guide for 2012:

2012 Vehicles (weights rounded off):
Honda CR-V 3400 lbs
Hyundai Tucson 3200 lbs
Jeep Compass 3200 lbs
Jeep Patriot 3200 lbs
Subaru Forester 3300 lbs
Subaru Outback 3400 lbs

Also consider Toyota Corolla, Nissan Altima, Lexus IS250, Ford Escape, Chevy Malibu, Buick Regal

This has been mentioned here before, but FYI, the actual tow capacity of any vehicle is its GCWR minus its weight when ready to tow, or the hitch capacity, whichever is less.
