Old Demco tow dolly wheel size

I had a blow out on my old Demco tow dolly with 14" wheels and my steel wheel is badly bent. Fortunately it happened about 100 yards from our final destination 500 miles from home. We unloaded the toad and dragged the tow dolly the rest of the way.

Does anyone know what type/size of wheel I need to replace it with? Do any cars have a similar wheel with the same bolt pattern?

I am currently in Buena Vista, VA and plan to head home on the weekend.

Paul

When I bought my used (2005) Kar Kaddy SS it didn't have a spare. I went to a local shop that sells used tires and rims. Got nice chrome rim and tire for $45. Ask around if there is a place that sells used rims, or check with tires stores they my have a rim that will fit. Out here we have PEP Boys auto supply that sells rims and tires, there's probably some place like that where your at. There's nothing special about the rim, has a common bolt circle.

Spoke to Demco. Wheel is 5x100 hub centric with 2 3/8" bore and 42mm offset.

They are no longer available from Demco.

Heading for tire store to see if they can straighten it.

Found an exact match at a junkyard.
1998 Cavalier 14" steel wheel.

The manual for the KK3 shows a 6x14 wheel with 5 on 115mm pattern.

Demco said they had used two sizes during production. Mine is the older size. I think it was 14x5.5".

I have been trying to find another one to have as a spare, and I have not been able to confirm from any source (other than what the junkyard had written on the wheel) that this is in fact a 1998 Cavalier wheel.

More info when I have found confirmation.

I just spoke with e trailer.com and they will be stocking a replacement wheel for (at least) a 2004 KK3 (drum brake) dolly. PN 09296. It should be available in a day or two.

Ok, went to a tire dealer and had everything measured. The correct wheel for my '04 KK3 is 5 lugs with 114.3 mm spacing. I picked up a spare wheel, a common white spoke trailer wheel, 14in x 5.5 in.
The backspace is not exactly as OEM but it works just fine.

I'm still looking for another match for my old tow dolly.

Seems like I found a snowflake the first time.

I would suggest to buy two new wheels (so they match) and also new tires of course. Then keep your old good wheel and tire as the spare. Of course this is a bit more money, but you have peace of mind that the dolly should be good for many years.
