Patriot 2 breakaway install

I recently had a shop install a breakaway cable for a blue ox patriot 2. I was charged 3 hours labor @ 115/per.

I originally didnt think much of it until seeing some other installs in my current CG.

Does this look like a 3 hour install or do you think I got taken for a ride?

I did mine, Nissan Frontier, it did take about three hours, I had to remove part of my dash board and drill through the firewall.

I wouldn't be happy with the exposed cable hanging down. Hopefully when road debris takes that out it doesn't make the brakes lock-up.

I would be really ticked off with that installation. It’s also not a straight pull, have you tried manually pulling the pin at the angle it attaches to the coach? Is it just stuck on, or bolted?

I did mine myself it probably took me 2 to 3 hours, I had to drill as well ...but I agree with everyone else about that cable/wire hanging down ....

Drill three holes - two to mount switch, one to drill through the firewall to get the wire from the outside to the inside of the vehicle. Not even run wire through the engine compartment? This takes 3 hours? Sounds like a total clown at Camping World that did not even had a clue, did not know what to do, or had no experience how to use tools with none what so ever mechanical background. 30 minutes with someone that knows how to do, with 1 hour max. I did mine on my 2004 Chevy Captiva in about 40 minutes. You got hosed, but good!
Regards
Dutch Master
