We tow our 2013 1500 Silverado. The Diamondback Bed Cover with the Truck Vault underneath works great for the ATV and provides a goodly amount of secure storage space. User friendly & smooth sailing.

Driveshaft Disconnect
This is what it looks like. The cable goes thru the floor and the knob is on the side of the transmission tunnel, just in front of the driver seat.
It is just a simple mechanical device...been around a long time...and doesn't have all the pushbutton electronics and whatever else that seems to be the rage these days.

If you notice the common denominator here is the transfer case in neutral. GM 2wd vehicles cannot be towed without alterations only 4wd. I don't know if this is the case with other brands or not?

2013 Ford F-150 Platinum Ecoboost. Tows 4 down in minutes by putting in neutral and turning the transmission switch 5 times. I use the Ready Brute Elite tow bar with Ready Brake so no brake set up in vehicle.

We have our 2012 F150 FX4 as our toad.
Currently at Goulding s here in Monument Valley.
It takes 5 minutes to hook/unhook from thr rv.
This truck is a blast to drive and has room inside to spare.
Extremely happy that we brought it rather than trying to set up our 2010 Escape as our toad.

The Dakota 4x4 is good to go as well. Works well on a 5000lb hitch - but putting a 6-700lb ATV in the back will likely put you over....

Now that sounds like the way to go. My Harley sits in a storage locker.
