We have a Mini Cooper Clubman on a Demco ss dolly. How do we best prevent stones, etc. from destroying the front of the car? Pictures of the Protect-A-tow unit are all with some type of type of tow bar system. Does the Protect-A-tow unit work well with car dollies?

We have pulled our toads over 100K without any damage at all. They get VERY DIRTY, but towing 4 down we have not had a scratch. We pulled Jeeps and pick-ups with Winnebagos. Our 2 gassers only had mudflaps behind the duals. Our Journey has them and a full flap at the rear.

Not nearly as many miles, but in 5 years towing (200+ nights per year), not a scratch, ding, or windshield crack. We don't go to Alaska and only drive dirt roads slowly into campgrounds. Have never felt the need for towd protection.

I have a class A with flaps behind the wheels and another across the whole coach. I have towed the toad about 20,000 miles and it has chips in the paint and in the windshield. So you can use my experience or those that never get any problems, as you need. I hope you find a good protection plan that you can live with before you find out if you are as good as Cousin ED.

I have been pulling a 3/4 ton 4x4 three years, 35k miles with minimal damage(gator got it once and a couple rock chips)but the height and chrome bumper is what I think saved it. Coaches have had all the flap protection in place. Now we will be towing an HHR when not in the stacker trailer an I have installed this Blue Ox guard on my tow bar. With all the hardware it comes with I see no reason it couldn't be adapted to a tow dolly.
