PriorityStart! in a Honda Fit

As you can see from the pictures, I had to get a little creative with my install due to the Air Force One Brake controller. The positive cable is contained in a plastic housing that encloses a busbar for power distribution. The housing did not have clearance to allow attaching directly to the positive battery lead so I used a 12-inch extension and mounted the PriorityStart elsewhere.

I'll report back on how it works after I use it for a few months.

I'm happy to report the PriorityStart works as advertised. Did a couple of long tows that caused the battery to dip below the PriorityStart threshold. Turned the key. Waited a few seconds for the car to "wake-up" and then started it.

It's an electric-mechanical mechanism. If I listen for it, I can hear a brief mechanical sound when the battery reconnects.

So does the Air Force One controller uses so much power that itruns your battery down?
I have a2007 Honda Fit with a Roadmaster Even Brake, no battery problems. I suppose it depends some on how much you use the brakes.

The AFO is powered by air pressure, not electricity.

I have an automatic transmission so I have to leave the car in accessory to keep it in neutral. If I go more than a day towing without running the car, the battery quits (it's a new battery).

Other options I've seen include pulling the accessory fuse, wiring a switch to disconnect the accessory or a battery disconnect switch.

The PriorityStart is automatic which is one less thing for me to remember. It's a personal preference thing.
