I will be towing my 2005 Deville on a Mastertow dolly on highways from Wisconsin to Florida, Texas and back this winter. My 98 Chieftain has a full width rubber flap in the rear. It looks to me like any debris that might fly up will run under the bumper? Anyone with experience?

I towed my Continental that way for a year and didn't have any damage. You will get some dirt & grime on your caddy.

I purchased a Tow Shield from Camping World and always use it on my toad. It's easy to put on and covers the front grill, fenders, and windshield. The underside is a cotton fleece and any clear coat burnishing is easily removed by putting some car polish/wax on the spot and the cover buffs it right out. The outside is a tough vinyl and has kept the car's finish pristine.

I tow my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind our 1999 Winnebago Chieftain 36' DP and use a Ultragard full width flap with optional stainless steel plate. After 4,000 miles have seen no damage on the Jeep. I think the height of the Jeep probably helps some.
