Putting Blue Ox on my 2016 Wrangler JTUS. What's these nuts?

Getting ready to install a Blue Ox baseplate on our 2016 Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I've been going through the instructions (yes, I'm one of those that reads all the manuals FIRST) and there are these nuts called Nut Wire and Whiz Nut with wire. I'll go out on a limb with a SWAG and say the wires are for holding to reach the nuts up where they need installed. Anybody??

Afraid you are on your own with the nut question but would strongly recommend taking the money you would spend for a base plate and put it down on a nice after-market bumper with B/O pull tabs......

You are correct that the wire is for putting a nut that you can't put a finger on. They more then likely have something that sticks out to keep from turning. Same as if you were putting on a receiver hitch.

Yes. For a number of base plates the bolt extends up into the frame (boxed) and it is difficult to get a hand in there to start/hold the nuts.

Use red loctite on the threads.

I would also advise looking at the utube video of the installation. Much clearer and up to date.

good luck
