Qualified as 'towable'?

Good evening everyone. Just a 'lurker' at present, but wonder if anyone is flat-towing a Prius or Honda Civic Hybrid. I have discovered that my '09 Acura MDX is not towable. Thanks in advance.

Civic's, whether hybrid or not are not approved for four down towing by Honda. The only ones that are are the Fit and CR-V now.

We. Tow a Ford C-Max. It is a great easy tow. Very similar to the Prius and is American made by an American company.

Tow 2004 Chev Avalanche and ford C-Max Hybrid (not at same time)

neither prius nor civic is approved for dinghy. some people asked about prius before, if you search on this board you will find complete questions and answers. for prius, not only it's not approved but also you will have hard a time to find a base plate.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. There's a lot I need to be learning and some hard decisions to be made in the next six months. It's a pleasure to be in a position to feel comfortable asking what must seem like inane questions to most of you. Thanks again.

You can go to this site and find out what vehicles can be towed four down or be modified to be able to tow four down.

However, it is not always accurate. I pull a 2000 Lexus RX300 FWD four down with no modifications. I've towed it about 30,000 miles with no problems.

I have a letter from Lexus stating the 1999, 2000 and 2001 Lexus RX300 can be towed four done as is.

You can lurk over to Motorhome mag and pay a couple of bucks for their year by year report on what's towable. It's a great tool to have as you learn about RVing
