Questions on HHR toad, Blue Ox and weight clarifications

Well...finally bought the motorhome with all your help. Purchased a 1997 Coachmen Santara 30' Class C with Ford Chassis...V-10 with 45K miles on it. So far love it. Now...I need to purchase a toad. Seems info is hard to get to for me on the internet...maybe I just don't know where to start. I am looking at a 2006 Chevy HHR automatic 2.4L. Says gross wt is 4240, curb wt is 3155. OK...what is the difference? I have a 3500 hitch receiver on back. Would be nice because it comes with the Blue Ox that fits the back of the motorhome and already has the base plate on the car. The other issue is it has 125K miles, but seems very well cared for and is in very nice condition. If it were a Honda or Toyota I would not bat an eye, but I know nothing about HHR's. Anyone out there that has a lot of miles on their HHR? I know people that own them love them and the threads seem to reflect that towing is easy with them. Other question is that they have had the Blue Ox since 2006 and towed 18K miles with it. Life of Blue Ox? Please help again. I do appreciate your answers.

I towed an HHR for 4 years. It's a great tow car. I often wondered about the door jam weight label. It only weighs 3150 lbs. I towed mine for 30,000 miles. You have to pull fuse #8 or put in a switch. You should be fine. Bring it in to a shop to check out any wear on the Blue Ox.
