Anybody thought about or has used a Razor as a toad? Maybe one of the larger 4-place models? They weight next to nothing, can be made street legal, full tops are available, quite versatile on and off road. Wouldn't be much different than towing an old flat fender CJ or MJ, except newer and shinier.

Don't know how the drive train would take to 4-down though? Hmmm...

Thoughts?

I looked at them. But, nothing will make them "street legal" in CA.

The law here says that vehicles without a crash test rating can only be licensed as a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV). LSV's are restricted to being capable of only 25MPH or less...basically just golf carts....and LSV's cannot be operated on any roads with a speed limit above 35MPH.

If you can do it in your state, AWESOME. I think these side by side vehicles are great!

I doubt if the drive train, tires and suspension would be up to 4 wheel down towing behind a motor home at highway speeds. In addition, so much modification and add ons would have to be done, it would probably be easier and cheaper to buy a Jeep, plus it would be all weather vehicle with heat, A/C and windows where a Razor is mostly an off-road vehicle. This video shows what one guy is going through to make one into a auto, but of course it still won't have the airbags and other safety equipment of a car.
