Ready Brute/Blue OX Installed on 2014 CRV

With the help of some of our members I finished the install on my 2014 Honda CRV. I know many people ask where to drill the hole in the firewall. I have attached pictures of the inside and outside that might help others. The hole was drilled about 1.5" above the carpet line in direct alignment with the brake pedal for the Ready Brute Elite brake cable. I had to remove the top of the air filter enclosure to access the area on top and panels on the bottom. For the ready stop break away I drilled the hole in line with the emergency brake above the carpet line and ran the cable thru the fender well. I decided to attach it to the emergency brake. I mounted the break away (red unit) on the lower frame rail behind the plastic fender enclosure. I used small rubber clamps to route the wire in the fender well to keep it out of any moving parts and the brake lines. I also attached pictures of the mounting on the front bumper. What I did that might be helpful, was fabricate a bracket to mount the ready brute brake cable that attached to the Blue Ox brackets for the 6 pin connector.

Nice looking install and great pictures! I'm sure you'll like the ReadyBrute Elite and with the Blue Ox base plate you can hardly tell it can be towed when not hooked up. Good idea with your fabricated bracket for the cable mount! We are very happy with the same setup used with a Chevy Captiva.
