Ready Brute Elite with Surge Brake

Found a used, 2009, Ready Brute. Good price but I don't really know what to look for to tell if its any good or not.
What do I look for and will a 2009 model still be supported by the manufacturer?
Thanks

They have a "lifetime warranty", but I don't know who's lifetime, it could be only to the original owner. I own a RB and it is a great tow bar. Check their website for the warranty info.

Good system. Check the website as suggested, imagine they have warranty details there.

Are you getting just the tow bar? Assuming you already have a baseplate, toad brake lights, and umbilical cord, you will need, the in-car cable (from the car front bumper to the brake pedal arm), the right clevises (for your baseplate), in dash brake light monitor, and breakaway. If you need to buy these separately, you will probably spend an additional $200 or so...

The ready brute elite is used (2009) but comes with some parts, not sure which. Its $450 after haggling so I should be able to collect the other stuff and be way ahead. My main concern is being able to recognize if its broken somehow and if I can obtain repair parts for it. A new one is 12-1300 so there is some room.
Thanks

Sounds like a decent deal. And as you say, there is room if some expenditures are needed.

I stopped at NSA a couple of weeks ago. They took care of my older tow bar with no questions. I purchased it from a friend that had no use for it. Todd and Brad took care of all things that needed repair.
The breakaway and cable kits will set you back $200.
