Ready Brute w/ Roadmaster baseplate

I'm purchasing a ReadyBrute Elite and Roadmaster baseplate. What is the difference between the Roadmaster baseplates "MX" and "XL"?

I'll need Roadmaster ends for the tow bar, a wiring kit and a breakaway kit so what else will I need?

BTW my toad is a 2006 Silverado Z71

I used that exact setup. My Roadmaster baseplate was the XL. When I take off the crossbar and the two gizmos with the pins, the front of the car is clean! You have to look really hard to even tell it's set up to tow!

Be sure the kit includes the light that mounts in the MH to show the toad brakes are being applied. You will like the ReadyBrute Elite!

With the MX you wont need the cross bar like you would with the XL , go to Roadmaster Inc web site and look or call them

Does the MX bracket except a 1/2" or a 3/4" pin? The Roadmaster website does not say.

Will I need a vehicle breakaway kit also? I assume that I will but with the Ready Brute Elite braking system I'm not sure.

Readybrute has a brake way system, dont know how good it works? On the pins why not call them to see! but im sure they would be sized to fit the roadmaster tow bar or adpter for other tow bars.

Readybrute breakaway system is simply a second cable that attaches to the brake pedal arm just like the main braking system. There is a " one - way " cable sleeve that attaches to the front of the toad. Cable has a loop on the end which hooks up to the tow plate on the motorhome. In event of a breakaway, this cable is pulled which locks the toad brakes down. If cable is pulled out inadvertently, there is a manual release mechanism on the sleeve.

We like our Ready Brake too. I use the wireless brake monitor system they sell which also works every time.

Per calling Roadmaster, the "MX" base plate has a 3/4" pin.
