When mine failed it could not be repaired. Roadmaster did replace the entire unit under warranty or goodwill. I switched to a SMI unit as I got tired of installing, removing and storing when not in use.

I have found a dealer but did not get a quote. How much should I expect to pay?

Nine plus years ago I paid about $1100 for the unit and 3 or 4 hours labor to install it including wiring the lights.

I am on my second even brake. I do not find it a hassle to put in and out. I have used them on four toads, now a 2009 Chev Cobalt. One time I think it saved my bacon, came to a hard stop, would have run into car in front without toad brakes. I am a believer in them.

I found a used Even Brake at a Dealer. Contacted the manufacturer and they rebuilt it with the current software and a decent price. Reps were very friendly. I have a new unit at less than half the cost of a new one. Have been using it in a Dodge Dakota, works great. I can feel it slow my 29.5' gasser down on a quick stop. Hope this helps.

If you willing to go with a used unit, there a plenty of them on eBay right now.
