Just purchased 2005 Sport Trac, 4x2, want to put on a Remco driveshaft disconnect kit. Seems they go for about $970 from Remco. Can't seem to find any RV parts places that sell them cheaper. Anyone know of places with a lower price? Also, looking to install it myself, and things I should be looking out for ahead of time? Thank You...

I had a drive shaft disconnect installed on my E350
diesel van. It involves cutting the drive shaft and balancing it.
They will cut you a new shaft if you send them the measurements ,
which I did before hand. I stopped in the their factory July 2002
in Nebraska for the installation. I kept my full size shaft so when
I trade or sell my van I can replace it with the original shaft..
I think it was well worth to have them install it.
total installed $904.00
The spline where it connects and disconnects should be lubed
when you get your regular grease job done.
Works great....
