Road pull Cadillac 2006 SRX AWD
Has any one pulled this year and model? We are new at toad or dingy towing. We want to be able to pull it safely. We are thinking a Blue ox flat tow and a braking system. Tony and our son in law are pretty motor savvy on connecting things.
Thank you in advance

If you do a search on 2006 Cadillac SRX AWD toad in the search bar at the top of the page some information on later models as toads are posted. Probably not much different but unless the SIL and Tony are skilled, knowledgeable shade tree mechanics you might be better off to bite the bullet at an RV shop. We don't have to push a button in the shift boot (whatever that is) but our 2010 Buick Enclave is fairly easy to hook up and hit the road. If you do a search on the Buick there's some GMC posts that might further enlighten you. Good luck

Not know what you have for a Motor Home but I would look at SMI product.
This one if you have a gas rig

or this one if you have air brakes

Check your owners manual. There is a section on towing and it will tell you if you can flat tow the car. It will also tell you the procedure for flat towing behind your motorhome.
Conversely, it will tell you if you cannot tow four down. Base plate installation is critical, so if the sons (In law) do the installation there are some pretty good videos on you tube. Also, Blue Ox has some good how to videos on their website.
Good luck and hope this works out. We really enjoy the lifestyle and the great friends we have made.

Search and you will find the procedure. I believe on the srx there is a button to push with the tip of a screwdriver under the front edge of the gearshift boot. This enables flat towing.

Your vehicle was NOT designed to be towed four down. Here is a quote from your Owner's Manual: "Your vehicle was not designed to be towed with all four wheels on the ground. If your vehicle must be towed, see “Dolly Towing” following for more information".
Here is the link to your Owners Manual. The information is on page 4-50.

Thank you, we did visit with the car dealer today. We will need to purchase a car trailer and haul the SRX. The manual did state not to tow it also.

What years of the Caddy SRX are flat towable?

Your profile suggests you have a FR Sunseeker. Is that a Class C? You may be grossly over loaded (tongue and overall weight) trying to tow the SRX on a trailer. You may need to go back to the drawing board.

We are re-thinking and will not use that vehicle. Tony wants to toad or dingy tow a vehicle. Might be a Chevrolet. We will se. My Sunseeker has a 450 Triton v10. It so has a towing package on it.
