Roadmaster Add A Brake

Hello All,,,,

Picked up a used Roadmaster Add a Brake. Came with the manual, and I ordered the break away switch and cable today, so in the mean time, I am reading the big caution sticker.

It says to remove the towed's, in my case Chevy 4 X 4, brake vacuum pressure or serious damage could occur to the tires. It also says to check owners manual on towed vehicle. I couldn't find anything in the manual about relieving the brake pressure.

What do I do, press the brake a few times before placing the unit on the floor and attaching the arm to the brake pedal?

Thanks for everyone's help.
