Carefull most cars have a steering lock to lock the wheels when the key is removed. This can be overcome with a little bit of nowhow and work.

Because of the locking steering wheel.

Basically to keep the steering wheel unlocked and because Honda says to turn it to accessory.

Several of my friends tow late model Hondas and only one person has a problem with the battery draining and has to remove the fuse as stated in the owners manual. If I tow more than four hours I start the engine and run through the gears. That also helps recharge the battery and I have never had it discharge.

I just put mine in neutral and turn the key to off not locked.

If you run a #12 or#14 wire from your battery on the Toad to the center terminal on your 6 prong plug, your coach will keep your battery charged.

If you wire your lights direct from the coach and use diodes, then disable the steering lock. You will never have a problem with flat toad battery as you never need to switch the ignition key on.
