Roadmaster Bracket & M&G brake install

I recently installed 52289-4 Roadmaster brackets and a M&G brake system.
The Roadmaster brackets were a extremely easy install the hardest part was removing two metal tabs on the frame where the brackets had to fit and a big hammer took care of that.
Next my soninlaw and i installed the 503 M&G bake system, i first pumped the brakes 3 or 4 times after i shut the engine down to deplete the vacuum in the system before removing the master cylinder we removed the truck battery to make it easier to install the M&G, it is really tight for the brake lines and wiring harness during the install. Next we did the M&G fitting on the vacuum cylender found 0 clearince and screwed the adjusting screw in 1/4 turn this is about a .010 gap from the M&G rod to the vaccum pot push rod then droped a couple drops of thread lock on threads. Then we did the fitting to the master cylinder same as above we then removed the Oring from the master cylinder and attached to the M&G brake and attached it to the vacuum cylinder with original nuts.
We then moved the master cylinder foward carefully to not kink the brake lines and carefuly bent the AC line toward the engine for clearince then while bending the master cylinder front toward the passenger side of truck put the inside bolt and nut on carefully bring the cylinder in line with the M&G watching that the M&G adjusting pin goes into the master cylinder correctly tighten every thing down install the air line button everything up and test run the truck for a couple miles without touching the breaks and then test the temp of brakes rotors or do the feel test If it cool then check your brakes. As you can see in the picture i attached my breakaway cylinder behind the front bumper and the picture with the dipstick and brake cylinder is of the AC line re adjusted toward the engine

Hey Walt,
I just completed the same M&G install on a Jeep Wrangler JK, it's not a simple project is it? Once it's done, it should lead to a confident towing experience however. It's pretty simple in it's design and should work well. Good job.

Yes MWT It is a simple design with one moving part and once installed its a easy hookup, it was a easy install for me but i had installed one on a 2013 F150 CC my only consern when installing the M&G was that i might crimp the master cylinder lines when bending it in place. By having a extra set of hands to hold the master cylinder out of the way when fitting the M&G to the vacuum pot and holding the cylinder steady for that fitting was a big help that i didnt have for the F150.
Just thought this post might help someone rigging a Ram up for towing that might want to try and do the job them self, the bracket install is a simple install for anyone that can pull a wrench but i have installed close to 20 sets of brackets in the last 25+ yrs and at 81 it was not a problem fo me.
