roadmaster XL clarification please

please help me understand something. i recently purchased a roadmaster XL baseplate for my 2001 accord. am i correct in assuming that if i use a blue ox tow bar and adapter, that there will not be a crossbar permanently mounted to the front of the car? ive looked at the few you tube videos i could find. also looked at the still shots at roadmaster and their pdf's, and in the end all i can tell is that there are two flat plates sticking out, but i dont know how the adapter works with the steel blue ox TB's. i think that with the roadmaster tow bars, there would be the permanent crossbar but i just dont know. please dont turn this into a "i prefer this or that" thing. i just want to know how this proposed set up works.

Which adaptor did you buy, the 032 or 033? With the 032 the cross bar is removable, the 033 is bolted to the XL mounts. If you wish to remove the mounts and adaptor you will need a set of quick mounts.

The 032 adapts motorhome-mounted Blue Ox tow bars (Aventa, Aventa II, Aventa LX, Kar Bar, Aladdin, Alexxa, Acclaim) as well as Blue Ox “A frame” tow bars with one or three-pronged attachments to ROADMASTER brackets. They also adapt Demco Aluminator, Commander, Excalibar, Kwik-Tow and Dominator tow bars to ROADMASTER brackets.

The 033 has the same adaptibility as the 032 except that this adaptor is permanently bolted to the mounting bracket.
Note: this adaptor does not fit MX or MS series brackets. Also, if you plan to use any ROADMASTER brackets with removable front arms, you will need quick-disconnects in addition to the adaptor.

i havent order adapters or a tow bar yet. i jsut paid for the XL base plates. they will be shipped first AM. I see where i went wrong. i thought i needed blue ox adapters. after more searching, i see the 033 and 032 adapters from roadmaster. it also appears that my choices arent limited to just the blue ox TB's to not have a permanent crossbar. with the xl, i can even have a quick disconnect (without adapters) on a roadmaster tow bar. is this correct? forgive me for being so uninformed on all this, but roadmaster's CS is closed this time of night. and if i need to go with a different base plate, i'll need to stop shipment before first AM.

The RM Sterling TB would be a good match. If you use a B OX get the 032 Adp.

I had RM base plate on my Saturn with the 032 and a Demco Excalibar TB. Have all Demco on the Honda
