RViBrake 2 Set-up Failure

Nearly all systems checked out good. All loaded and ready to go. Toad - 2015 Subaru Forester attached. One more step and we are on the road!

Put the RViBrake 2 in position, plugged in, turned on and the compressor ran and ran and ran non stop.

Called the customer service from the Eastern Time Zone, they are in the Mountain time zone = no one in to answer the phone. Read the operation instructions again - not helpful. Checked on line - not helpful.

Finally, it was 8 AM in the Mountain Time Zone. Called, spoke with CSR, unit is no longer under warranty (five years old) - not helpful. Was advised to open unit and visually inspect hoses for obvious defects. (Didn’t mention doing a soapy water/bubble check ~ which occured to me later on.) Got the unit open - no obvious defects. {Can get it refurbished for $300 with a one year warranty.}

Plan B implemented, DW follows in her vehicle. We get here - paradise on the Downeast Maine coast - Schoodic Woods Campground.

Oh wise ones - what are your best ideas and recommendations?

If the compressor was building up pressure, then the pressure sensor might not be working properly. If the compressor wasn't building up pressure, then it needs rebuilding or replacing.

Have it refurbished or buy a new one. I have an RVi 2 that is a little older than yours and would not hesitate to have it rebuilt if it needed it.

None of this stuff lasts forever... Send it in and get it rebuilt or get a RVi 3 for a bunch more money...

I too would send it in but might inquire if THEY felt it best to rebuild and/or if they would give you a rebate on exchange for a new one.
Nothing to lose asking?

Curious - is the 2015 Forester a 5 speed or A/T? Towing on a dolly or flatdown, as I though that year, and later could not be flat towed.

2015 Subaru Forester could have the CVT auto (non-towable) or a 6 speed manual (towable)

Our 2015 Subaru Forest is the six-speed manual.

Click here to see it in action: https://youtu.be/TeobBAhC860

Looks like it will be heading in for rebuild.
This is turning into an expensive preseason- $1500 of servicing and AC repair at FreightLiner.
Then $ix new Michellin XRVs at the commercial tire dealer.
Our big road trip isn’t until August.
So have time to replace the awning arms, fix the drawer below the stove, (the latch failed on the way to here), and maybe upgrade the AC/DC power supply.
And rebuild the steps, they no longer fully retract.

Thanks for the great advice and support.
