Saturn seems to state the Red Line model is not towable. Dealers indicate it is because of the different front grill, etc. However I have seen Red Line VUE's being towed with all 4 wheels on ground. It seems the biggest problem is cutting two holes in the front panel to allow the tow bar connection. (The window sticker states it is towable but dealers state it is a misprint.) However my local dealer states towing it will void the warranty. Does anyone have any experience with this model? I am currently looking for a new tow vehicle.

There is no difference between a Vue Red line and a standard Honda V6 Vue except for slight suspension changes and the plastic valances. So there should be no reason that it is not towable. Your best bet is to contact Saturn Customer Service at (800) 553-6000 and ask them directly. As most of us have found car sales personnel very rarely know anything about RV towing. I also do not think Blue Ox would have developed a base plate exclusively for a Red Line Vue if it was not towable. BlueOX Vue Baseplate

Blue Ox supports the 2004 Saturn Vue Red Line in their product catalog, Part Number: BX3321.

The 2005 is no doubt very similiar.

Competitively priced and most often less expensive than the competition, you can order the baseplate directly from RV Upgrades.

I found this on Saturn.com, as part of the Red Line package description:

quote:
Includes: Sport-tuned suspension with performance springs and struts, 18" alloy wheels, Fascia and side-rocker ground effects and chrome exhaust tip. Do not tow if your VUE is equipped with the Red Line package. You can damage your vehicle.

It's not clear if "tow" means towing a trailer, being towed with a tow truck or recreational towing (whether 4 down or dolly). Or if Saturn distinguishes among all those meanings. Note that it is common to warn against breakdown towing a vehicle with a ground effect trim package, because those low riding panels can easily drag if a tow truck lifts either end.

Definitely should get the answer straight from Saturn.

The statement on Saturn.com refers to the act of towing with a Red Line. The information that has been put out by Saturn is in reference to the front air dam limits cooling to the transmission. Since the transmission runs hotter when towing it needs all the cooling that is available. This has been discussed a lot on the Vue forum at www.saturnfans.com.
But as you stated in you post and in my previous post it is best to check with Saturn's Customer service (800) 553-6000
