Setting Up a 98 Ford Ranger 4cyl 5sp to Tow

Score; I just bought a very clean 1998 Ford Ranger 4cyl 5sp Ext Cab that will be replacing my 96 Geo Tracker that I plan on selling....

Will a RVibrake-RVi2 be hard to hook up?

I need to get base plates to use my Blackhawk2 All Terrain Tow Bar with... Any suggestions where to buy?

Also I think I will go with LED Magnetic Tow Lights just because I don't want to mess with the lighting on a 18yr old truck..

Thanks LeeB

Etrailer has a lot of tow products. I was never able to find much in the way of deals on the brackets alone. https://www.etrailer.com/

I tow a 97 Ranger 5sp 4cyl using Road Master Base plate go to their web site and check out. I installed myself and was easy. I don't know if they will hook up to your all terrain tow bar but there are adapters for most TB's. I use a Ready Brute Elite tow bar. I also have a Brake Buddy. You can buy most of these items on Amazon. Shop around for best price. Good Luck

I think all the tow bar manufacturers make adapters for their bars so they can be used with different base plates. Just go to your bars manufacturers web site and do a search.
The RVI2 brake set up is super easy to set up and use. After the initial install of wiring, it takes about 30 seconds to hook up, and less than that to take it out. Very reliable system, great service and tech info help.
I also use a good set of magnetic LED tow lights on our Subary XV. Treat it as a trailer, ran wire under the car from front to back, with plugs at either end. Front plugs into the motorhome plug, rear plugs into the lights. You'll have to make up a wire set up, not hard to do and cheap. Reliable, no modification to car, no diaods, no fuses, no holes to drill. Takes a minute to set up.

Try hitch trader .com for used equipment also I don't think you can beat M&G air brake system for ease of install and hook up, why not buy the led strip and install on the bottom lip of the tail gate . On eBay for less than $20.
