Shocked at how many RV places have never heard of Ready Brake

I have called at least 8 rv service places around the DFW area and none of them have even heard of ReadyBrake/Ready Brute.

Was looking for a place closer than the dealer as he is 52 miles away. Now I will go to him. Should have called him first.

I'm not surprised at all. The dealers I've had experience with know very little about the products they sell, including the RVs, and even less about brands they don't sell.

We had our mechanic install the baseplate and the other odds and ends. No problem at all. No need to go to a dealer. We installed the MH side of things as our mechanic had an accident and couldn't do it himself. No problem other than time.

I had a local truck accessories shop install my baseplate, lighting kit, ReadyBrake and ReadyStop cables. Cost me $550 labor for everything.

Call Smitty's in Dallas. When I was there getting my Remco pump replaced he was installing a Ready Brute.

That sounds like a VERY fair price. I DIYed the whole deal and spent probably 30+ hours. Of course I didn't have a hoist, air tools etc. I also had to deal with a couple of severely rusted bumper bolts on the 7yr old Wranger I was setting up. And, I'm far from a professional mech.

Sorry, brain fart. Smitty's is in Houston, not Dallas.
