Your 2013 does not need the key. Column does not lock.

Hey, looks like your going up Stone Mountain, GA or is that Sedona, ha, ha. About those low profile doors - I will be looking for a used set to fit our jeep when we get one next year.

Here is what I know about our Avanti motor home: 200 hp diesel with 6-speed Allison:
I have not weighed our unit yet but here are the specs-
GVWR is 18,000 lbs.
GAWR (Front) 7,500
GAWR (Rear) 10,500
GCWR is 26,000
5,000 lb trailer hich at 500 lb tongue

So, I think I have enough for a 4-door jeep?
Thank you for your comments,
Stinsons

That was Moab, UT. Great place to take the jeep. 52 different trails ranging from an easy drive to if my built, lifted, armored jeep can even make it, it will have body damage.

Good luck on the doors, I think they are harder to find than a unicorn horn.

FWIW... My 2dr wrangler '12 in real life is right near 4200 lb on the scale without rear seat, driver or any cargo. If weight is a factor, it might be good to get real weights of the rig vs looking at marketing specs. I'm quite sure the doors, top and seat would need to be removed to get weight down to what the stated curb weight was.

We have a 15 Sahara unlimited 4dr and love it. We do have to leave key in, though.

Where can I get the actual weights of my unit? Can you go to one of those truck stops on a highway? If so, what do they charge?

I've always just gone to one of those truck stops and my last CAT scale weigh ticket was $10.50. There's been a few weigh in motion roadside stops that I've been allowed to drive through that didn't charge (live weights displayed on a sign).

We love pulling our jeep. We just sold our 2012 wrangler sport and bought a 2015 rubicon. Wouldn't want anything else, plus they look cool behind a big rig.

Why do you leave the key in?

'15 Wrangler steering doesn't lock with the ignition key.

To Slolane, In our manual it says ignition needs to be in on/run(not started) to tow and key won't come out. At least not for us.

Comparing the ride, handling or anything else about the Jeep JK to any previous generation is apples and oranges. I've owned a number of Jeeps, from a '46 flat fender to our current 2012 Unlimited. This one has all the creature comforts you could want plus the ability to take it almost anywhere without worry of breaking it. No, it doesn't ride like a Lexus, but at least the 4 door doesn't ride all that badly, in my opinion. If expecting a Lexus ride you may be disappointed.

For your short wife (mine is just a pinch over 5'), the seat will raise up with a "pump handle" on the lower left of the seat.

For the record, we get 20 mpg with ours in all around driving, up to 22 if doing more highway driving. This is a couple down from what it had been as I swapped the stock differential gears for "taller" 4.10s. I needed to be able to tow our boat on occasion so felt I needed the additional "umph".

2012 Wrangler 2 dr. Drives great (not like the old wranglers that did tend to wander sometimes on road). Great city vehicle and wonderful in back country. Tows great, fun ride, difference in gas mileage does not deter me. My advice is: perfect tow vehicle. jmo mark
