Smile Small 4wd advice

Can anyone give me some advice on which small 4wd would be best to tow behind an RV, and what towing system is the best?

Small 4wd advice

The Jeep Wrangler is hands down the most popular and easiest to set up to tow four down. For towing systems you will get as many different opinions as there are different tow bars available. Do you want steel or aluminum, folds on the MHs receiver or stays on the toad? I like the Roadmaster Stowmaster because it stays on the Jeep bumper as I have used it several times taking it in for service, I just tow it with my truck. The types that stay on the MHs receiver are more predominant though.

We tow either a 2005 4wD GMC Canyon or a 2000 manual Subaru Outback, depending on what we are doing. As for tow bars, there are a lot of them out there. We use a Demco on the truck, and a Roadmaster on the Subaru. Some brands appear to be more problematic than others. "Google Tow bar failures" for some interesting reading.

Whether you decide it means anything or not, of the 11 that come up on the first page:

7 are one brand
2 of a second brand
2 of a third brand

The decision is up to you.

Another consideration when towing is a supplemental braking system, required in many states. Lots to chose from out there as well. It pays to do your research. Good luck in whatever you decide!

2014 (or older) Honda CRV with a Blue Ox. The CRV was the most popular toad until Honda changed the transmission in the '15 model.

That’s pretty vague! Could mean anything from a smaller parking lot to traversing the Rubicon Trail. If you want off road rock crawling then you need something with a hi-lo transfer case as found on some Jeeps, Suzuki and others. If mostly paved roads then any towable AWD such as an older CRV would work.
