smelly toad

Wondering if anyone experienced a hot rubber smell on their toad after flat towing? We are getting a hot smell driving the toad and can't figure out what it might be, any suggestions? Oh the toad is a 08 suburban 4x4. Thanks!

There are a number of threads on this topic.
The smell is caused by rubber residue off the highway that accumulates on the exhaust system of your toad because the engine is not running. When you start, the rubber burns off and you get the smell. Not to worry, it only lasts for a few minutes until next time.
