New from SMI is this really good sounding toad supplemental brake system. The Air Force One model at http://www.smibrake.com/afo.html.
Best of air, best of wireless, best of everything??? Too good to be true??? Anyone got this brand new beast in operation and willing to report?

Sounds great, but there sure isn't much technical detail or any diagrams/illustrations on that web page. I hope the somebody tries it out and reports here.

Great - I'm thinking about getting a new brake unit (my current one is not proportional) and this new SMI sounds like a winner.

While we were in Perry, GA a couple of weeks ago Peter was installing Air Force Ones at the WIT Rally. The new Air Force One is going to be the go-to standard in toad brake systems in a very short period of time.
It works better than the vacuum products, it's simple and it's fool proof. Peter is currently developing a follow on product for us gasser guys that do not have an air compressor on the motorhome. It's going to be a product that work along the lines of the Air Force One. Could be an Air Force Two or whatever.
Hope to see this new product installed on my rig this March or so at the WIT Rally in Orlando.
When it comes to auxiliary braking systems SMI rules!

Bob, as I mentioned in a previous posting, Spartan told me that I need to install a separate compressor and tank if I wanted to use the coach air system for toad brakes. Further, Spartan claims that their system is designed for only teh coach. Although that is hard to beleive, who should I believe? I would like to not go through the hassle of reinstalling my SMI Stay and Play in my new Suburban and upgrade to the Air Force 1.

I have one on order for my Endeaver when I pick up the coach I am going down to Evansville and let them install the brakes. They told me that they tap into one of the rear brakes to supply air to toad. ?????
They also said they were shipping them out as fast as they make them.

Jerry, I would go out on a limb and ask you to call my private tech, Lou from ReCreation RV...
His number is (757) 437-2880 and he can tell you his thoughts.
He was told by Newmar that all he needed was the "check valve" to prevent the coach brakes from being affected.

I will call Pete on Friday. I have known him for several years. He met up with me in Orlando last spring to install the updated G force controller in the coach.

Jerry, with the aforementioned "check valve" I don't see how there'd be an issue with the install.
Good luck with Pete and tell him I said HELLO!!

I had Pete install the AF1 system and the Spartan kit on my MH at the Newmar International rally in VT. Works as advertised and we are pleased with the simplicity of hook-up.
