I currently have a 2006 Saturn Vue I wish to tow behind an 02 Winnebago Journey. I'm very interested in the force one by SMI. Does anyone currently use this supplemental brake system in their Vue and if so how do you like it? Is it simple to install or must you have it installed by a dealer?

Can't answer your question about the Vue but I do have the system and love it. Actually, I just removed it from a 2004 Ford Explorer and reinstalled in a 2008 Explorer and it is not too difficult. The most difficult part is finding a place to stuff the control box under the hood in today's already-stuffed engine compartments.

SMI folks did the original install for me which included the Journey. However, if you are handy with tools and don't mind crawling under your rig to make the necessary air and electrical connections, you should be good to go.

I installed one in my Tacoma and like it. But, I am working with SMI right now to figure out why I have to push so hard on the MH brake to activate the TOAD brake.

I just received my SMI Duo in the mail today for my 2008 Saturn Vue. I plan on installing the Duo after we get back from Cape Hatteras. We leave this Saturday with no toad. (again) The Blue Ox baseplate and bulb kit goes on at Camper Country on the 29th here in Myrtle Beach.
