Spare tire and rim for EZ Tow dolly

I lost a tire on my EZ Tow trailer this weekend. The tire blew and the rim was damaged and probably not usable anymore. I did have a spare and made it home with no problem but since this is a fairly uncommon tire size I was wondering if anyon had any luck finding a spare in a pinch?

I ordered a spare rim and two extra tires directly from EZ-Tow. Much easier than looking elsewhere and I knew they would fit.

That's my plan

What did the tire dealer tell you about where to look for one?

I was pondering on this while on the road this past couple weeks. Since the EZ-Tow uses balancing beads for tire balance how does one go about replacing these in a pinch?

I just went through the same thing. A tire failed catastrophically on I70 at roughly 11,000 miles. My wheel survived. I ordered new Loadstar tires from E-Trailer. They also offer tire and wheel package:
Tire with Wheel 10 Inch Tires and Wheels | etrailer.com

The Loadstar tire appears to be unique in that it is a full 10-plys. More readily available tires like Hi-Run have same load rating but are 10-ply rated, only 6 ply actual. There is a difference of 115 pounds per tire on the weight rating. I pull a minivan and want all the capacity I can get.

I bought a Hi-run to use as a spare until the new Loadstars arrived. I now have a mounted spare Loadstar, 2 new Loadstars on the road, and a spare unmounted Hi-Run.

Cheers,

Bob

Tire issues

Good news. I ordered a rim and tire from Rec Stuff. It fit perfectly, looks the same.

Bad news: I'm on my third set of tires. We left 6/22/15 to see the country. The first set of tires showed major splitting in the treads in mid July (2-3K). I got killed on overnight shipping, ordered them from ACME. We were moving on in 2 days and I feared a blow out.

The same thing happened again and this time I ordered a rim/tire to use with the spare. This time about 3-4K miles.

I'm not sure if it's a pressure issue. I started out with the tires pumped up to 90 psi as the sticker on the tow dolly says. When I ordered the new tires from ACME and told him what happened he said to keep them around 70-75. I did and the second set split as above. My son suggested we check the pressure with the car on the tow dolly and there is a marked difference (10-15 psi). I didn't think this would matter so I was always checking unloaded. Currently I'm running at 65 psi with the car loaded on. I'm at 1K miles and so far so good.

I called Loadstar today trying to get some tires under warranty. He asked for pictures so I'm waiting. I'd like to have 2 to have on hand in case they split again (we're typically in national parks and good luck getting help there). It's nearly impossible to find them at local tire centers (believe me I tried in Utah and California).
