Sport Trac Neutral Tow

I installed a led pilot light went to a Ford dealer and had the computer updated to turn on the NTF. It seems to work fine except that the light has a slight glow when not engaged (go's out when interior light are on. Anybody else had this problem? Also is there any way to confirm the transfer case is actually disengaged, as the transmission is in neutral and would act the same.

I have a 04 Ford ST that I tow and the only difference is I have the factory LED light kit. When I follow the sequence I can hear mind click 'shift'. When I first got the ST I was a bit unnerved by this system by Ford as I had a Jeep with a transfer case lever shift. On occasion I have checked the ST at rest stop and found my led light out also, so I did a reset up. After thousands miles of towing it has been working fine without problem.

Here is how my ranger works with an owner installed led. Yes the led is on very dim when not activated. When it is activated it is on bright but turns off after a few minutes. It comes back on if I open the door to check. If you listen carefully when you activate it you can hear the transfer case shift motor operating. This is the way it has worked for years with no problems.

I believe when we towed a Ranger I could put it in park with neutral light on and it was free to move even in park, disconnected from tow bar. We could hear it go into neutral also.
