Is yours a Falcon 2? Mine has one button each rail of the bar that locks it in place. Are the frozen so they can't be pushed down? I wouild sugest using some kind of penetrating oil. Lock your bars in the vertical position so that the oil can seap down the shafts.

That works for me, (on my similar 11 year old Roadmaster All-Terrain tow bar).
