Supplemental braking system quit!

Is there any harm in towing my toad (crv) using the Blue Ox tow bars without the supplemental braking system? Any experiences, please? Thanks!

You would be illegal in all states, and expose
yourself to litigation in the event of an accident.

Jeeze! Here we go again with people giving wrong information and quoting websites that sell supplemental braking systems with wrong information. Nauseating.

Not true, lots of states don't require them if you can stop in XX feet from XX mph like WA, OR and CA require.

I would be willing to bet that in any state a brake system that does not work would be illegal. That is not the same as not having the system...

If the hysterics are done...

No, if will not hurt you tow bars if they are set up correctly per BlueOx's instructions. Not having a brake system will increase your stopping distance and, if a break away situation should happen, your towed car becomes an uncontrolled missile. But if your braking system broke and you have to move the coach, you can do so.

Those LEDS would not go out until I unplugged them. I am calling SMI Demco on Monday morning for a dealer near one of my 20 stops. Wife is currently driving the CRV until then. We are on a 2 month trip out west before returning to Ohio.
