Hi all

I installed a us gear tow package on a jeep jk 2 dr wrangler, used the cooltech wiring and have a 2008 winnebago sightseer 35j (blue ox baseplate/aventa towbars). We're ecstatic about taking off for a year, but these last few days are kind of hectic.

In the final preparation stage, I've got to complete the MH portion of the toad braking install.

I've got a simple question - what wire do I splice into for a switched 12 volt power source on the winnebago workhorse? I could cut wires and test and splice them back, but thought I could ask y'all if there's an easier way.

Also - has anyone done the diode install for the brake controller in the MH - the instructions I got were incomprehensible.

Guidance I was given.

"Find a switched 12-volt source for the remaining (red) wire that was not inserted into the pigtail connector. Splice the red wire from the pigtail into the switched 12-volt source."

Thanks
Chris

Use a test light with a sharp pointed tip to pierce the wires insulation if you have to do it in the middle of a wire somewhere, or put the tip in the back of the connector (wire side) if doing it at a connector.

With the test light on the wire, switch the key on/off until you find a suitable wire.

The small hole in the insulation won't be a problem if it's somewhere under the dash and not in a corrosive environment.

You could also check the workhorse wiring diagram. They have service manuals and more available on the workhorse site.
