Tacoma TOAD

I put a Superior Driveline disconnect on my new Tacoma 4WD to be towed 4 down. Working well so far, however I noticed the odometer is running up miles while being towed. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Don't have a solution for that but noticed you are kinda new on the forum and couldn't remember if I had welcomed you. Guess one more won't hurt! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

First, if your drive line is disconnected it should not be registering mileage. Second the ignition is in the ON position instead of the ACC / OFF position. Mileage will only record when the ECU is powered and that only happens when the ignition is in the ON position.

Tacoma Toad

I'm flat towing a 4Runner automatic with the disconnect. I put it in Park and turn Off the ignition and leave the key in place so the steering remains unlocked. No mileage recorded. Check the wheel to make sure it is unlocked if you're anal like me.
