Mbl Cndo...
The Saturn Astra is <STRIKE> NOT</STRIKE> towable.
the only 2008 Saturns that are towable are:
2008 Saturn VUE
2008 Saturn Outlook
(This info was taken from the 2008 January Motorhome magazine "Dinghy Towing" insert)

Mbl Cndo....
I stand corrected....Little did I realize... they break them down as "Trucks/SUVs" ... and on a seperate page there is a listing for "Passenger Cars"
Route 66 is correct!

According to the Motorhome Magazine 2008 towing guide, both the 3 and 5 door models are towable with either the manual or automatic transmission.

It's always an excellent idea to read it in the owners manual before making a purchase.

Well "MM", you were mostly correct after all... I contacted Saturn who confirmed that the Astra is only towable FROG in a manual tranny configuration. The auto cannot be towed FROG.

Did the info come from Saturn HQ or from a dealer?

Mbl Cndo...
Go into the dealership and ask to look at the Owner's Manual for the specific vehicle you are interested in. Double check it for yourself in the manual. (I work at a dealership and almost NONE of the Salespeople or Service Techs know what can or cannot be towed )

Read it yourself....

Mbl Condo, as MM suggests you should insist on seeing the vehicle's owners manual...

Understand that these manuals are usually held in an office inside the dealership, filed under a stock number for each individual car... If they left the manuals in the glove boxes, they'd grow wings and fly away long before the actual buyer ever saw them...

Chevrolet/GMC vehicle manuals actually have a section in their manuals called "dinghy towing" so it's relatively easy to find....

It is called Recreational Towing in my GMC Acadia manual and I think most GM cars. It mentions that it means "dinghy towing", though.
