Toad??

Just purchased what will probably be our last rig. 3767 Mountain Aire. Will need a toad at some point. Have a 5000lb hitch. Looking at something along the Compass. Any recommendations Please.

Thanks-Q

Do your research before you buy. Some are better than others for use as a toad. I would look at Remco.com and see what they say.
What year Jeep are you looking at?

According to my Dingy Towing guide The Compass is towable with manual tranny. It is not with auto. Best thing is to visit a Jeep dealer and find out what is towable and which one sparks your interest.
I am currently towing a Jeep GC but we may be going to a Wrangler.

2014+ Jeep Cherokee 4x4 is flat towable, provided it has Active Drive 2 and the flat tow wiring harness is installed.

Thanks all for the replies. I thought all Jeep products were flat towable and a stick shift will not do. I had better check my options.

Appreciate the info.

Try looking at these guides. They go back a good ways.

I wanted an automatic under 3000 lbs & searched all the guides. I found 4 brands & ended up with the Chevy but in my research I did see many other automatic options had I been willing to go to 5000 lbs. good luck in your search. Iím sure youíll find many different options

Pretty happy with our 2 door Jeep Wrangler and it is an A/T. Simple to hook up, set up for tow.

The GMC Acadia or Terrain is flat towable also Ford makes several cars that will do the same. I tow a 2017 GMC Canyon 4x4. GM, Ford and I think RAM 4x4 trucks are all flat towable. Good luck.

When looking for tow ability, check the owner's manual...not the salesman or anybody else interested in selling you a vehicle or towing equipment. We are on our second Honda CRV, the manual says how to properly prepare it for towing behind a MH.
