Toad base plate, emergency tow aid.
Our Blue Ox BX2607 base plate sure came in handy yesterday. Toad, driving solo on a muddy dirt road got stuck to the point getting towed out was the only option. The break away chain attachment points proved an ideal place to attach the tow chain. Got pulled out with no problems. I did call a Blue Ox tech support and was assured the base plate was up to the task. Tuck that tid bit away for future reference should your toad ever get stuck and need to be pulled out.

Before you go out muddin again, get a couple of 1 7/8" ball covers to keep the mud out of the pin receivers.

Dennis, we weren't 'muddin' on purpose but thanks for the tip on keeping debris out of the pin receivers.

Just kidding on the mudding.
Thought you might be interested in the covers though. The 1 7/8" cover slips on perfectly and keeps the bugs etc from getting in the receivers.

I tried that. But, I just bought (2) 1 7/8 ball covers (not hidden hitch) for my Blue Ox base plate on our 2016 Grand Cherokee. There wasn't enough room to slide the cover over the pin receivers. Maybe the Hidden Hitch version will work.

Did that myself.. Not the best hook up spot for loading on a flat bed tow truck (Well, ok for loading but he will want to re-attach elsewhere to secure.. It's a angle of engagement thing) but it works great for getting the towed ONTO the bed so he did not have to crawl around in the dirt.
