I toe a 2012 Equinox, that my wife drives daily. I chose Ready Brake, a surge brake because of cost, and simple to hook up. I installed myself with the help of etrailer.com.. Log onto their website and look at the utube video on installation. It is very simple to hook up.
I don't say it is better than others, it is what I chose after much research.

I just noticed over in the classifieds, there's a Patriot for sale for $250. Good deal.

HicksRA,

Thanks for that tip. I just sent a message to that seller. You're right - that is a good deal, especially since the cheapest I've seen these is on eBay for at least $350 used.

X2 on the Ready Brake, cheap, simple no electronics to mess with, nothing to put in or take out of your car every time. Just hook up clip one cable and ready to go.

I am the designated tower. Tow a variety of vehicles for various purposes. Purchased the Blue Ox Patriot for that reason. Low cost multiple uses, reliable and legal.

Blue Ox Apollo

My Blue Ox breaking unit works fine for my needs, but the break activation transmiter/receiver light is not working. I have had a few problems in the past where the unit activated without me knowing and fried the front breaks.

Are there any other brake indicators that I can use with my Blue Ox Apollo?

Thank you,

John
