Toad brake light malfunction

Have an '09 Hyundai Sonata standard as a toad. Some time after having the wiring done for the brake/signal lights done I noticed a strange problem. All the brake and directional lighting works when being towed. Yet, when not connected to the RV, the right brake light does NOT work. Installer is 1,500 mi away. Any ideas on what to chase down?

If a diode block was used you may have a bad connection on the diode block.

A diode block actually contains 2 diodes. One may be bad.
Just swap the two wires on one end to see if it makes the toad brake lights work.
If yes, replace the block.

Check /replace the installed aftermarket Brake relay, if your Hyundai required it. That's the part that allows lights while not towing. I just installed one in my Durango.

Thanks for all the advice. Have yet to get the ambition (or really warm weather) to double check everything. Diode blocks are probably the cause. When the wiring was done, the technician (I'm being kind here) was repetitively called away on other tasks. He probably got something wrong for all the distractions. Thanks again....
