Toad Brake Question

We re taking delievery of our new MH soon and I've got a question on toad brake system.
On our current MH, we have a US gear Unified brake system.
Will the same unit work on the new unit?
New MH is a Berkshire on a Freightliner frame.
Thanks

Yes it will. All current Freightliner's are prewired with a "trailer brake" connector located under the dash board. All you have to do is disconnect the connector from your current coach, remove the control unit from where ever it is mounted and reinstall in your new coach. Very simple.

The hardest part is locating the 6-pin trailer brake connector under the dash. Typically it is stored up as high as you can get under the dash either on top of the steering column mounting bracket or to the left of it.

The way I finally located mine was to find the cable assembly coming out of the steering column (usually on top of the steering bracket) and followed it for about 4 to 6 inches until I found another cable coming off of the steering column cable. At the end of that first cable I found the trailer brake connector. It was tie-wrapped to the steering column cable and I had to cut the tie wrap and pull the connector down to where I could attach the US Gear's connector to.

Oh, also, first you'll have to go to the US Gear's website and order the adapter cable that goes between the trailer brake connector and the US Gear monitor connector.

Hope this helps

Ron

Yes but you may need to run a pair of wires.

I'll be going to the shop and talking to them first part of next week.
I prefer to have everything ready to go than take delivery and have to take it back a week later to have them add something.
