Toad for Fleetwood 38 Expedition

Hi folks. lots of good information on this forum. Not sure I'll ever get all the way through it.
We recently added a 2007 38' Fleetwood Expedition to our toy list. It has a 300 hp Cat engine. Allison 6 speed transmission .We plan to be on the road by May for a six month voyage
I am thinking we may be a bit underpowered for toading and would like to get some input.
Our personal vehicles are a 2011 Edge (with adaptive cruise) and a 2010 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4. Both are towable according to what I've read.
Both are > 4K lbs with the Explorer about 700 lbs > than the Edge.
Our other option might be to find a "light weight something" it looks like Jeep Wrangler, Honda CRV, and Fiat might be good possibilities.
Also researching the towing hardware including baseplate, tow bars, brakes, and electric. Any input appreciated

Tom
Well I'm switching toad from a 98 Honda Accord to a 2011 Ford Edge Sport.
I'm getting a new tow bar because the one I have is 10 years old

I just ordered the SMI Stay-In-Play. I have the Invisibrake in my Honda but I don't trust it.
SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional SMI Tow Bar Braking Systems SM99251
Also going with the EZ set up

Still have to get a base plate Roadmaster twist & lock

Cost for the install of everything $950 with wiring, if I can get it done before March
I would give the Ford a shot if the hitch will handle it.

Update.
Toad is on the road.
Finished install of baseplate, brake/taillight wiring, 12v battery direct kit, towed battery charger, & RVi2 brake system. We test towed behind Explorer Sport Track all went well, except we "forgot" about releasing parking brake. Fortunatley, we were going slow for a very short distance, before stoping to check. No damage done, but a lesson learned about following a process, every time.
Next step will be towing behind the RV.
If anyone needs info about install on Fiat 500 Pop, feel free to reply or email for specifics.
